Home made face mask recipes
Your can go to any health or beauty shop and find a very wide range of face masks. They come in an enormous variety of different ingredients, usually made for specific skin types and purposes. Some face masks are designed to make your skin softer, while others will hydrate your skin or feed your facial skin with nutrients or vitamins.

But why not make your own face masks? It's way more fun, it gives you certainly a lot more satisfaction and it's a lot cheaper as well! Making your own face masks is not even difficult at all. Basically what you need is the right ingredients and a little bit of practice. It's actually quite simple, most will be able to get it right very swiftly.

How to make your own face mask?

First we need the ingredients. As stated before, the ingredients you use to make your own face mask depend on the purpose and your skin type. Here are a few examples:

Oily, shiny, acne skin face mask recipes
While oily facial skin is a good thing since it helps to slow down the aging process, the oily skin type is quite often also prone to synptoms of acne.

Make your own banana face mask
For this face mask we'll use very ripe bananas. You will need one medium sized banana for each mask, a fresh lemon and about two tablespoons of honey. Mix the banana and the honey in a blender. When the substance is mashed up add about ten drops of lemon juice and mix it all for another few seconds. Take a few tissue papers and soak them in the banana face mask mash. Then apply to cover your face fully (keep your eyes and nose holes free) and let it sit for about 20 minutes. After that, remove the mask and rinse your face with a warn washcloth. You can apply moisturizer for a maximum effect after that.

Acne / Pimples face mask DIY
For the treatment of Acne face skin, this is an ideal mask. You will need: one aspirin pill, 2 tablespoons of organic olive oil, a fresh lemon and a tablespoon of honey. Crush the aspirin pill to powder and mix it with the honey, olive oil and about five drops of lemon juice. After the Acne-mask substance is ready you take a few tissue papers and soak them with the substance. Apply to your face for about 15 minutes, remove the mask and rinse your facial skin with a warm wash cloth. This mask is ideal to remove pimples.

Healing face mask for Acne scars
Acne can leave nasty scars on your face which can be very embarrassing. The Onion-Oatmeal face mask helps to reduce Acne scars and makes your skin softer and smoother. The recipe comes originally from Julie Gabriel. The onion is used as an anti inflammatory while the pores of your facial skin are deeply cleansed by the oatmeal. You may add a tablespoon of honey to the mashed onion (half a piece) and the oatmeal (two tablespoons) to get an even better result. This will also keep the mashed onion and oatmeal stick to your skin. Leave this mask on for 30 minutes for a maximum result.
