8 Tips to Maintain a Happy and Healthy Vagina

Welcome to this amazing 'how-to' guide that will teach you 8 useful tips & tricks to maintain a happy, healthy vagina!

To put things in a nutshell, every woman ought to be aware and cautious when it comes to the well-being of her vagina. Typically, there are a scope of factors that could potentially affect the condition of a woman’s vulva, ranging from hormonal changes, bacterial imbalance, allergy towards certain clothing materials of underwear or panties, personal hygiene, vaginal pH and many others. There is a good reason why every vagina has lips (labia). And to continuously keep those (pussy) lips of yours smiling is to ensure it is always happy and healthy!

Lucky you! I'm going to tell you more about all this! Below are a few awesome tips & tricks on how to keep your vagina constantly in a fine-fettle:

1) Regularly eating  yoghurt preferably on a daily basis

There are two types of probiotics that co-exists in a yoghurt culture known as the Lactobacillus and Streptococcus. The ubiquitous goodness of both bacteria helps to insure and balance up the vagina flora. Thus, a cup of yoghurt a day keeps yeast infections at bay!

2) Always use a proper feminine wash solution and avoid using normal harsh soaps

The term pH refers to the acidity level.  A normal pH range of a vagina ranges between 3.5 - 4.5 while during menstruation, an elevation in pH occurs because the pH level for blood is 7.4. In order for women to always smell fresh and maintain a proper pH level down south, it is important to always wash and clean the area with a proper feminine solution instead of regular soaps which are not only harsh but will compromise its pH levels. Opt for products that contain natural ingredients derived from milk based products such as lactic acid and lacto-serum.

3) Wearing panty-liners and remembering to regularly change them

Panty liners are similar to sanitary pads whereby its base contains a sticky adhesive allowing it to be attached to the female underwear. However, unlike normal pads, it is much smaller, thinner and serves to keep women feeling fresh and dry on a daily basis. Women are always prone to vaginal discharge and the amount of discharge is dependent on the menstruation cycle. This causes an uncomfortable ‘wet’ feeling along the linings of the underwear and prolonged moisture not only causes unpleasant odor, stained underwear but also may cause infections to occur. A panty liner works like wonders to solve this issue as it creates a little barrier between the two keeping women fresh throughout the day.

4) Always practicing proper methods of cleaning your vagina after every toilet visit

On average, a woman visits the toilet to urinate at approximately six times a day. It is essential for a woman to always wipe after peeing.  When out from the comfort of their homes, a woman should always carry around a packet of dry tissue as well as a packet of wet tissue at all times merely just stashed in their handbags for emergency . This is because occasionally tissue supplies may not always be available at public toilets. Cultivate the habit of always cleaning and wiping from the vagina towards the anus. On contrary, doing it the other way round may induce harmful bacteria from the anus to infect the vagina.

5) Paying a visit to your local gynecologist  on a yearly basis for a Pap-Smear Checkups

The objective for undergoing annual Pap-Smear Checkup is Pap basically to have a woman’s reproductive organs thoroughly checked to ensure it is free of pre-cancerous cells, infections or sexually transmitted diseases.  During the checks, the gynecologist will swab the cervix area to obtain some cell samples to be further analyzed. If any abnormalities are found prior to the screening, the patient can immediately seek medical treatment on the spot to prevent further harm. According to an article taken from European Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Cervical Cancer Screening (2010), consistent Pap-smear screening and follow up checks can decrease deaths due to cervical cancer by up to 80%.

6) Ensure urination and thorough cleaning of your vagina immediately after every sexual intercourse

Various studies have shown that Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) occur ten times more often among women than in men. The more obvious signs and symptoms that points to a person with UTI infections are feeling some pain or burning sensation during urination as well as sudden urgency to pee more frequent than normal.  It is imperative that a woman SHOULD ALWAYS try to empty their bladder immediately after every sexual intercourse otherwise they greatly risk developing a UTI infection. If one feels the inability to pee after sex, try drinking at least two glasses of water on the spot and periodically try to force the pee out.  Once urination is achieved, thoroughly clean the area of the vagina with a feminine wash solution. Refer to tip number for washing and cleaning (2).

7) Always practice safe sex by using a condom, more so if you are not in a monogamous relationship

In today’s world, women are no longer play a docile role when it comes to sex. In fact, women these days are more knowledgeable and cognizant of what they want sexually. Therefore it is only logical that if a particular woman is sexually active, she should always keep a condom in her purse AT ALL TIMES WITH HER instead of relying on the members of the opposite sex to do so. It is common knowledge that men are known to possess two brains which works asynchronously, one inside the skull while the other inside his penis head. When the latter is aroused and active, the former loses its ability to function at a 100%.  If you want to have fun, take charge and be responsible to protect your own well being and also his at the same time.  The enjoyment only lasts for moments but the consequences may ruin your life!

8) Groom, groom, groom and trim, trim, trim your pubic hair

A thick-bushed forest of hair down south can be rather unhygienic especially when a woman is menstruating. If a woman does not wash the area properly, over time the bush can get all matted, dirty and produce very unpleasant odor. When a man goes down on you during the act of cunnilingus, he will find it very difficult to maneuver through your thick shrubbery and might even end up having his teeth flossed while he is at it. DEFINITELY NOT SEXY AT ALL! There are many ways to do so ranging from shaving all traces of hair completely, getting professional help of bikini waxing or just lightly trimming the area to make it neater. It all depends on your preference and level of comfort. Ultimately it is essential to do some deforestation and groom that area to maintain some level of personal hygiene.

So there you go with all the above tips given.  With all that said, do treat your vagina with tender, loving and care.  Always remember that your man may love your vagina but as a woman, you should love your vagina more than he does, as is it not only a portal for bringing both of you constant pleasures but also of your own health and well being. Good luck!
